Slab on grade
The slab on grade is the standard for most new residential and light commercial construction: floor slab and footings placed as one system directly on compacted subgrade, over a vapor barrier, reinforced to plan.
The work that decides whether it is a good slab happens before the truck arrives — subgrade prep and compaction, an intact vapor barrier, reinforcement held at the right height, a joint layout planned rather than improvised, and elevations verified against the engineer’s benchmark. We treat that half of the job as seriously as the finish, because the finish is the only part anyone photographs and the prep is the only part anyone lives with.
Custom home foundations, garages and outbuildings
Our custom home foundation work is one-off houses for owner-builders and general contractors: footing geometry, rebar schedule, anchor bolts and holdowns tied to the drawing, penetrations set before the pour rather than cored afterward.

Raised and stem wall foundations
Not every Riverside project wants a slab, and not every plan draws one.
A stem wall foundation puts the structure on footings with short walls, with the floor built on or between them. A raised foundation carries the floor above grade on a perimeter foundation and interior supports, creating a crawl space beneath. Both are still specified in new construction — for grade conditions, for access to under-floor systems, for architectural reasons, or because the engineer determined it was the right system for the site.

ADU foundations and flatwork
We build ADU foundations and the flatwork that goes with them — driveways, walkways, patios, garage slabs, equipment and utility pads. What is the difference between a slab on grade and a raised foundation?
A slab on grade places the floor slab and footings as one system directly on prepared subgrade — the finished floor is essentially at grade. A raised foundation carries the floor above grade on a perimeter foundation and interior supports, leaving a crawl space underneath. Slab on grade is the more common choice in current construction; raised foundations are still specified for grade conditions, under-floor access and architectural reasons.
